Alrighty!
We are planning a new game, it is likely to start next wednesday(not the upcoming wednesday) so we need to draw up a player list before then, please post here if you want in - or even better, come to #EU2 on irc!

We are planning to play the latest version of the interregnum mod(wich can be found here).

This is the first idea of country list the numbers 1-3 indicates my view of relative strenght, we are thinking that we're not gonna give the strongest ones[1] to our most fearsome players to make it more balanced, the [3] countries are not weak by any means - just start out worse(imo) than the 1s & 2s:
Al-Andalus[1], [The Caliphate[1]](only if we get that many players), Bavaria[1], Brittany[2], Hanseatic League[2], Hungary[3], Scotland[3], Savoy[3], Byzantium[3], Teutonic Order[3], Finland[3].
This means 10 countries+1 extra if we get that many players. If we get less players, Al-Andalus will be cut out.

Here is a short description of the diff contries:
[can colonize means they can choose to go that path and get pretty early explorers/conqs, colonizer means they almost always get early explorers]

Al-Andalus - basicly a superstrong moslem Spain, can colonize and basicly rule the world, subject to crusades though.
The Caliphate - kind of like Ottomans, but based in the middle east and *beep*ing *beep*icly strong.
Bavaria - interregnums equivalent of Austria, can annex entire germany with ease.
Brittany - France, but more leaned towards trade/colonizing.
Hanseatic League - Venicelike, but in north of germany, colonizer.
Hungary - a backwards balkan giant, can colonize.
Scotland - basicly replaced England and can inherit Norway.
Savoy - southern france/italian country with a strategicly poor location but alot of options, colonizer).
Byzantium - well, Ottomans never got them beat =).
Teutonic Order - replaces Poland, well sort of, can crusade in Russia.
Finland - replaces Sweden - kind of, can colonize and/or grab a piece of Russia as well.

Koss, do you have any experience with EU2?
(its kind of an requirement since its a hard game, if you dont, download the game and we will tutor you so you can be in our next MP)

ALSO, we've not set an exact time yet, but expect it to start sometime around 6pm GMT(we want to start as early as possible).

But dude, from Monday you have one and a half week to download it(wich takes like 10 minutes on a fast line) and plenty of time to get resettled.

Ok, seems we will be playing tuesdays instead. First session will be Jan 13th and (hopefully) start by 18.00 GMT

Also, I used to play this game frequently but I sold the cd when I sold my old computer. Can someone link me to a download?

I have not played in quite a while. I had France for about 3 rounds before, so I kind of suck but understand the basics.

Yeah, I chose Scotland looking at it from almost a Risk-like viewpoint. Put me on whatever a newish player would be best with, I am goint to the IRC now.

Yeah, I can make the date and time.

Meh...my mIRC is not being happy right now, or I would be there.  Any ideas on fixing that, btw?  It just won't connect when I try, gives a little click, holds up for a second and then nothing happens.

On a happier front, I just transferred EU2 from my other computer and patched it with the interregnum mod, sooooo I'm going to get back into playing it and get ready to beat all ya'll down :D

Oops, also, I have played before, MP once as well but on a dialup connection soo...bleh.  Anyway, I believe I'd like to play brittany.

Finwe, I played it with some friends before but not with VU.

I've been going by "Barny" for over 20 eras; but for the last 10 eras or so someone had been getting my name occasionally; and I have to go with "Barney". He has adopted a last name now though; because in our periodic name wars whenever I get the name Barny if he go it the last era, I kindly inform his kingdom members of his love of bestiality and kittens.

Looks fun, and I want to play, but I've never played before.

Whats Bavaria's colonising like? I don't mind trying it, but I don't really want to play as a central power and be suffocated and landtied as my first game back. Something less stressful than a austria-eu2-like country would be nice
